Summer Beauty Must-Haves

Hiiii babes. I’m back with another blog post – this time focusing on my summer beauty must-haves.

When I switchover my winter wardrobe to my summer wardrobe I also introduce some new products into my beauty routine. Why? Because Canadian winter and Canadian summer are a complete 180 and my skin/hair/body needs completely change. Thus, us Canadian girls must swap out some products in our routine. For me it’s usually this: lighter moisturizer, higher SPF sunscreen and then invest in some new blushes/bronzers/body lotions because why summer colours and scents are FUN.

Honestly, any excuse for me to make a Sephora order is good enough for me! So without further ado let’s get into the beauty products you NEED for summer 2020.

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask: This is your post-sun skin saviour. It’s hydrating, plumping and full of anti-inflammatory ingredients. Perfect for when you got a lil too much sun and your skin needs a cool down.

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40: Invisible, weightless and probably one of my favourite makeup primers for the summer. Not only does it protect your skin from sun damage but it also just feels good to put on. I get excited for my morning routine because I love using this as my last step. My makeup looks so good with this under it too! I would say this is great for all skin types.

Jack Black SPF Lip Balm: Trust me, there is nothing worse than sunburnt lips. You’re gonna wanna stock up on this!!

First Aid Beauty Hydrating Serum: For when you do burn your face and start the ugly peeling process. This is a MUST. It won’t sting your red skin and will give you the hydration you need to help your skin heal faster.

Hair Care

Drybar Blonde Mask: The sun is not kind to us blondes so to avoid brassiness this summer use this once a week to boost your colour.

Virtue Restorative Treatment Mask: Pool girls you’ll need this to help hydrate your locks after being in chlorine. This stuff is MAGIC. Use twice a week for super full, healthy locks.

Briogeo Leave-In Conditioner: I actually use this while I’m tanning to help protect my hair. You know what post-tanning all day shower? Picture that but with super hydrated silky hair because you had this in it all day. Not a want but a NEED.

Playa Endless Summer Spray: Gives you the most perfect tousled waves when you. Spray in damp hair and let air dry. Smells incredible.

Body Care

Sol De Janeiro Bum Bum Cream: 100% worth the price and will make your tan last longer. This stuff also tightens and smooths the look of your skin. It really does work. The results are not instantaneous but after a month of use you’ll definitely see that your legs look more smooth. If you’re a self-tanner this is a must to make your tan last its longest.

Ouai Scalp & Body Scrub: The key to a perfect bikini line is to exfoliate! This works wonders and smells amazing. Also great for scrubbing off fake tan. It can also be used on your scalp too, which I love because you’re getting more bang for your buck.

Tan Luxe The Face Self-Tan Drops: You can use this on your face but I also love adding some drops to my body lotion for an extra lil glow.

Jack Black Bump Fix: For when you do get those pesky razor bumps – this is the cure!

Tarte Maracuja Hydrating Tinted Moisturizer: Ultra lightweight and mega hydrating. I also love the coverage it gives! Perfect for letting your freckles pop through while also giving you some extra love in problem areas. A must for hot days.

Nudestix Matte Blush & Bronzers: I have 10000 good things to say about this product but not enough time to do so. Just take my word that you need these stix in your life. The colours are amazing and perfect for summer skin. OBSESSED. Easy to reapply and can be used on the cheek, eyes and lips.

Becca Skin Love Primer: This is probably the most underrated product EVER. It’s such an incredible primer and is super hydrating. I put my CC cream on top of this and my skin looks like butter but like in a good way. Obsessed. I continually repurchase this and it’s perfect for making your makeup last all day in the summer.

Becca Sunlit Bronzers: Comes in 5 shades and is gorgeous on the skin. My most used bronzer in the summer because it stays put and doesn’t look muddy. My favourite shade is Bali Sands.

Nudestix Magnetic Highlighter: You just can’t go wrong with a cream highlighter in the summer. This one is my current fav because it doesn’t looks sparkly. It’s a beautiful glow that will have people thinking you drank about 7 gallons of water. My favourite shade is angel.

Sephora Collection Melting Lip Balms: I’m telling you this is the perfect lip balm. PERFECT!!! I have it in almost every shade it comes in. Super creamy, great colour and super easy to toss in your purse. Also very affordable. My current favourite shade is caramel.

Bonus Beauty Products

Here’s some extra bonus products that are not from Sephora but are still bomb for summertime.

Bondi Sands Ultra Dark Aero: The best self-tanner in mu opinion. Easy to use, hydrating, no weird smell and now available at Shoppers Drug Mart!

Honest Beauty Gel Cleanser: A really refreshing, clean and affordable cleanser that I love post pool day for a quick clean. Also now available at Shoppers Drug Mart.

Sun Bum Cool Down Cream: For when you get a little bit too toasty. Also helps preserve your tan and make it look nice n dark. I think this is available at Shoppers Drug Mart too but I just buy it off their amazon shop.

It’s A 10 Leave In: Pricey but definitely worth it if you’re constantly in a lake or pool. Will safe your hair from so much damage and is super super hydrating. I don’t know where else to buy this in Canada other than amazon.
