Review: Virtue Hair Products

I’m about to change your life with this brand I’ve stumbled upon. Virtue has quickly become a ride or die brand in my haircare routine and I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to use anything else. I’ve been using these three products for just over a month now and the change in my hair is unbelievably dramatic. I’m disappointed that I didn’t take any before and after pictures, but truthfully I didn’t think that I would see the changes that I did.

Who Are Virtue Labs?

Virtue’s roots are in Raleigh, North Carolina. Dr. Luke Burnett, a retired US Army Colonel, leads a regenerative lab in the area that focuses on healing battlefield injuries with keratin. It was him and his team that discovered a way to extract human keratin in it’s purest form. It’s called Alpha Keratin 60ku and has the power to aid in the healing process of burn wounds and regrow tissue.

You know what else it does? Regrows hair.

Virtue has taken this discovery and created a haircare brand full of products that truly repairs hair. There is no other technology like this available on the market.

Alpha Keratin 60ku

So let’s dive into this technology that it’s in every Virtue product. Alpha Keratin 60ku is extracted from ethically-sourced human hair, this way our bodies recognize and treat it as if it were our own. It binds itself directly to damage and fills in the damage, revealing hair that’s stronger, healthier and stronger. I’m not joking my hair has grown 2 inches in a month because of these products. It’s insane. My blonde (which I get down every 8 weeks or so) looks so vibrant people have asked me if I went and had it done recently. I’ve never received more compliments on my hair in my life.

My Fav Virtue Products

So here’s what I’ve been using the last month and a bit.

The Virtue Labs Recovery Conditioner – $54
Pricey but oh so worth it, especially if you’re a bottle blonde like me. It contains hydrolyzed quinoa, which is a plant-based protein that enhances colour, helps moisture retention and adds shine. It also contains baobab seed oil, which is from the African Tree of Life and is a rich, silky oil that acts as an intense emollient for dry and damaged hair. Finally, it contains grapefruit extract, which is loaded with vitamin c and antioxidants that help revitalize the scalp and give hair vibrance and shine. It has a really nurturing blend of coconut and tropical yuzu extracts that make it smell INCREDIBLE. I actually look forward to hair wash days because of this product. I really want to try the shampoo as well!

Virtue Labs Healing Oil – $55
Hair oils are one of my favs and this one has become a new staple in my routine. After washing my hair and letting it air a dry a bit, I apply this oil to the mid-lengths and ends. It won’t alter the colour of your hair or weigh it down. It contain tocopherol, which is a natural form of vitamin e that helps to neutralize free radicals created from exposure to UV light and pollution. It also contains Tahitian gardenia flower extract, which is a sacred remedy used to strengthen weakened hair. Finally, it contains Kalahari melon seed oil, which is native to the Kalahari desert in Southern Africa and is super high in antioxidants and hydrating properties. It protects hair from environmental aggressors and works to nurture dryness, brittleness and damage. It’s the perfect product to use pre-blow dry and has that same tropical scent that I love. It truly heals your hair and adds so much moisture back into it. It’s not yet available at Sephora but can be bought on the Virtue website.

Note: you must shake this oil before use to activate the ingredients in it! A little goes a long way. One pump should be sufficient for most hair types.

Virtue Labs The Perfect Ending Split End Serum – $56
This is my final step after using the oil. It really lock in all the ingredients. There are so many products that claim to seal and smooth split ends and this is the only one that actually lives up to its promises. This product contains pea protein, which helps protect hair from daily styling and thermal heat. It also contains the hydrolyzed quinoa protein we spoke about above, as well as the baobab seed oil. It has helped so much with my frizzy ends and I’ve noticed such a huge difference in how hydrated my ends are too. No more fluffy weird hair and WAY less split ends. I love this stuff so much. Again, a little goes a long way!

Final Thoughts

Truly my hair has never looked and felt so healthy and nourished. I bleach my hair so I’m always suffering from damage and dryness. I’m so excited about this brand and I can’t wait for you guys to try it out and give me your thoughts. I don’t say this lightly – I promise you will see insane results from even using just ONE of their products. The Alpha Keratin 60ku is in every single product so the benefits will still be there no matter which product you choose to use. Some notable mentions/products from Virtue that I haven’t tried yet but want to:

The Recovery Shampoo
The Create Volumizing Primer
The Create 6-in-1 Styler
The Texturizing Spray

If you have very damaged, dry hair or your hair just doesn’t seem to want to grow I would highly recommend checking out this brand. They are free of sulfates SLS and SLES, parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, and triclocarban, and contains less than one percent of synthetic fragrances. Their products are also vegan, cruelty-free, and come in recyclable packaging.

Let me know what you guys try from this brand and how you like them ๐Ÿ™‚ I think this is going to be a brand that becomes HUGE because of their unique technology. I’m so excited to see them grow.
