Hiiiii and happy New Year cuties! I wanted to begin this year with a round up of my top favourite makeup, hair and skincare products of 2018. This post will be dedicated to my makeup favs! These have become my ride or die products in my makeup bag and I’m so excited to share them with you. So without further ado let’s begin…
Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Hydrating Foundation
This foundation is incredibly hydrating but also stays put all day long. I use the shade 1.1 when I’m pale and 2.5 when I’m self-tanned! It’s buildable and never looks cakey. There’s 45 shades so you’ll definitely be able to find a shade that works for your skin. I truly cannot recommend this enough to any of you gals or guys that suffer from dry skin like myself.
Becca Sunlit Bronzer
I love warm toned bronzers because I’m almost always self tanned and love to give the illusion of a sun-kissed face. This bronzer does just that! There are five shades all named after beautiful tropical places. I love the packaging and the way this bronzer looks on my skin. It never looks muddy. It gives so much warmth to the face. My favourite shades are Capri Coast and Bali Sands!
Becca Lip & Beach Tint
I found this product totally by accident over the summer and since then it’s become something I can’t live without. This is a cream stain that goes on somewhat sheer but can be built up with your fingers to create a glowy-lit-from-within blush shade. I’m obsessed with this. I use it on my eyelids, cheeks and lips. Unfortunately it is only available online but trust me it is well worth the $$. This is especially great in the summer when it’s super hot and you want to just wear the bare minimum of makeup but still look cute and put together. My favourite shades are Guava and Dragonfruit.
NARS The Multiple Stick in “Apricot”
One of my all time favourite makeup brands is NARS! I found this cutie towards the end of the year when I was looking for a creamy highlighter stick. This can also be used on the eyes, lips, as a bronzer etc. I love the shade apricot when I have a tan. It’s a peachy highlighter with a glowy effect. It’s not chunky or “glittery”. I warm it up on the back of my hand and then apply with my fingers: instant glow!
Tartelette Toasted Eyeshadow Palette
Tarte does eyeshadows like no other. If you’re ever looking to invest in an eyeshadow palette I definitely recommend them. My favourite palette of all time is this Toasted Palette. The warm shades compliment my blue eyes so well and I can create some great looks with every shade in here. The shadows are extremely pigmented and blend very well. It also smells delicious.
Milk Makeup Kush Mascara
I had never tried any Milk Makeup products but this mascara came very recommended by the Sephora staff. I had low expectations because I had never found a mascara that had ever made me go “wow” before. Until now. This is truly the best mascara I have ever used. My lashes have never looked so full and voluminous. People have even asked me if I’m wearing falsies when I have this on!!!! Best compliment ever. I pray they never discontinue this babe.
NARS Velvet Matte Lipstick Pencil in “Bahama”
I’m not much of a lipstick girl. I constantly reach for the same nude shades. This is still my reigning favourite. I love how easy it glides on. It says “matte” but it’s not drying on my lips. I love this shade topped with some gloss. I think this will always be one of my favourite nude lipsticks.
Nude By Nature Moisture Infusion Lipgloss
I own every single colour in this gloss. I’ve never loved a gloss formula more! It’s not sticky at all and really hydrates my lips without compromising my lipstick. I love the smell and feel on my lips. Also, it’s decently affordable and can be found at most Drugstores! I’m really excited to try more from this brand.
Morphe Continuous Setting Mist
2018 was the year that Morphe finally came to Sephora! This setting spray has outshone every single one I’ve ever tried (including Urban Decay’s All Nighter Spray!!!!). I love how fine the mist is and how hydrated my makeup looks after I set it with this. It truly does make a difference in the longevity of my makeup. I will continue to repurchase this and pray that Morphe stays at Sephora forever.
So those are my makeup favourites from 2018! I realize I didn’t cover every single makeup category I just wanted to talk about the products that really shone this year for me. I hope you enjoyed this little roundup and I can’t wait to chat with you guys more in the new year.
As always, thank you for reading.
